YVONNE BATETRIP
Opening: 6:00pm Friday 25 September 2020.
At 55, Yvonne gave up work and started living alone for the first time in her life. She bought an easel and a paintbrush, and decided to fill her rooms with something of her own. She says, “it didn’t matter what the paintings looked like as they were just for me and my amusement – no one to judge them or my efforts. This was very liberating, and so I spent hours and hours trying to paint every woman in the world, as we’re all beautiful. Some were sad or angry, some had big noses, most had big bums. Many of them had attitude, and I liked that.”
Hundreds of paintings later, ill health has stopped Yvonne from painting so her neighbours, James and Flavia have encouraged her to have this exhibition of the paintings from Yvonne’s collection. Please join us for the opening.
Exhibition continues from 25 – 27 September,
open daily 10am to 4pm.
