Artist statement:

Tania Ferrier’s solo painting exhibition, titled “Women”, features 35 medium and large scale acrylic paintings that continue her feminist representation of strong women. Her dynamic paintings explore ways of subverting mainstream image culture by presenting women as active and powerful sexual beings, reimagining the banal ideals of beauty and desire found in mass media. Lee Kinsella, Curator of the Cruther’s Collection, UWA, will open the exhibition. Tania is offering a number of workshops and artist talks in the gallery.
