Swan River Print Studio

Spring Exhibition

Opening Friday, 16th October, 6-8pm

Swan River Print Studio was formed in 2017. Based within Heathcote Cultural Precinct, the Studio provides a space where members and associates can embark on individual and collaborative print projects. At its core is a small group of members dedicated to extending their own practice while furthering the understanding and scope of printmaking in WA. It provides a place where artists unfamiliar with these processes can work alongside trained printmakers. The professionally equipped studio, with its large scale etching press, pro- vides a space that strengthens knowledge and competence of printmaking in Western Australia.

Printmakers exhibiting include award winners Jo Darvall (Finalist, Perth Royal Art Prize; Minnawarra, and John Leslie Art Prize for Landscape painting; Redland, Albany, and Claremont Art Prize; National Still Life, Art Geo Busselton, and Fremantle Print Award); Pippa Lightfoot (Winner Open Print Award WA and National Book Design; Highly Commended Fremantle Print Award); Harvey Mullen (Winner City of Melville Open Art Award; Finalist, Perth Royal Art Prize); Maggie Calzoni (Finalist Fremantle Print Award). Other exhibiting artists include Annemie McAuliffe, Bethwyn Porter, Kylee Larsen, Claire Lawson, Elizabeth Atahan and Katie Glaskin.

The exhibition will be opened by printmaker and educator Shana James. Works on display by the eleven members of the Studio will feature drypoint, monotype, chine collé, etching, relief printing and mezzotint.

The annual exhibition of works on paper by Swan River Print Studio will be an opportunity to see and purchase works of diverse styles created during 2020.

Exhibition continues through to Sunday 25th October.

Gallery open 10am to 4pm daily.
